Upcoming Maintenance - 4/22 & 4/23
System Maintenance Update:
We will be performing system maintenance on both Saturday, April 22nd (from 6-8pm Pacific) and on Sunday April 23rd (from 5-7pm Pacific). Although the amount of time necessary to complete the maintenance may be less, the system will be largely unavailable until we have completed the process.
Saturday's maintenance is purely a hardware upgrade. We will be enhancing some of our core switches, which will allow us additional growth while improving our backend performance.
Sunday's maintenance on the other hand, will be a major software upgrade. A couple of the highlights include:
- Reduced login time - making it faster than ever to access you goowy account
- Enhanced mail view, with both classic and modern views, and resizeable panels
- Support for additional folders
- Public release of IM and File Storage - Although we still consider this functionality to be Beta, we are opening it up to all of our users. Thanks to our Alpha users for your great feedback!
- Automated contact import for AOL and support for manual import for Hotmail
- Guest accounts - allowing your friends to preview goowy functionality prior to creating a real account - and simplification of the account creation process - this should make it easier than ever to get them to join in the fun!
- And as always, some bug fixes thanks to comments that our members have submitted to us!
We'll be looking forward to hearing your comments and suggestions once you've had a chance to explore... have fun!
Yay! Can't wait for the updates. I got the first comment too! Woohoo!

Enhanced mail? Now I'm REALLY interested? Do we have flags? Filters? A Folder view? This could be Christmas in April.

We are working on it now and it should be ready tonight...this is a very exciting release for us! Let me try to answer some questions you guys have asked.
1. File size upload limit will be 10mb - you can increase it with a premium account which we will roll out in 30 - 45 days.
2. We will have support for more folders and a 3 column (new outlook) or classic email views. Filters and other major enhancements to mail are coming in the next 30 days.
3. We will add mark all as read soon :)
4. We are working on a goowy community and forum - it should be coming soon :)
Let us know what you think when it comes out tonight!

I *LOVE!* the new e-mail design. As Goowy just keeps getting better, I continue reverting my Hotmail accounts back to their thousand year-old classic view--the one that actually works. Conversely, Goowy's e-mail works like a charm. Good to see Microsoft's butt getting kicked. Keep it up!
Oh, and I finally used the storage feature just yesterday. It worked perfectly. My life is being made easier by Goowy. Thanks.
Even as a hardened beta tester, I'm ready to give up on Microsoft's recent pathetic "Live" attempts. Of all their Live offerings I am presently testing, not a one comes close to Goowy. Now, please go after their Office Live where I can set up shop with my own domain name. Do that and I'm a "Goowyte" forever.
Hey! Who's that in the rear view mirror? {Gasp!} It's Microsoft!

Maybe it's just me, but the new e-mail design seems very, very slow. I find myself waiting now, but did not before the redesign. Part of the problem seems to be page refreshing. Even after deleting an item, it remains visible in the view pane for at least several seconds. So, I wait. :(

Wow! the updates are so many.....3of'em I encountered within 2 succeeding days..
Total rocking

The new mail layout is great, but I think it got rid of the Hyperlink button in the email composer. please bring it back, my emails feel so empty without hyperlinks. i NEED hyperlinks!
(ironically the hyperlinks I put in here were filtered out. darned plain-text-only comments.)

It only logs into goowy for me. I can't get it to log into any of the other messengers nows.

Faster all around, we're lovin' it!

Man, this service sucks...numerous products out there kick your butt functionally, and they somehow manage to keep the service running while doing maintenance and upgrades. Guess that's the difference between pros building SaaS solutions and children playing Web 2.0
