The time has finally come for us to migrate away from the Goowy Webtop to AOL Mail.
The migration will take place on the night of Sunday, September 28th. Once we have begun the migration, if you are using the system, you will be redirected to the main site. In either case, you will no longer be able to login into the Goowy Webtop from that time on, but the page will give you additional information and will provide a link directing you to the new Goowy.com mail from AOL.
When you login to the new system, make sure to use your full email address (loginid@goowy.com) as your username. Also, for those of you with passwords longer than 16 characters, make sure to use only the first 16 characters.
As mentioned previously, we will be migrating your mail and contacts. Anything in your inbox on the old system will be moved to the inbox on the new system. Anything in other folders (other than trash, spam or sent folders) will be moved into a single "Goowy - Other" folder. Depending on when you login for the first time, you may not see this content right away, but it will all be moved to your new account no later than October 6th.
While the look of the mail application will change, you will still be able to send a receive email from your goowy.com email address. You will also benefit from a number of additional features including:
- Unlimited Storage - keep important messages as long as you like
- Integrated AIM Buddy List - send friends an instant message with just one click
- Access Your Email Anywhere - send and receive messages from any computer or mobile device
Thanks goowy. Its been a great year and I love the website but Im not going to AOL.

I am happy to read that all mails will be migrated to the new mailbox.
As for the transition, I can say that I never thought I in my whole life would get a personal relationship with a mailbox. Never.
Goowy changed that years back, and I got addicted. It was the most nice piece of 'mail'-software! It got faster with time, and included about everything one might ask for in a single Webtop solution. And it looked like a million too - no Microsoft-ish ugly graphics there :D
And now it all will be gone? Except the mailbox and the AOL IM?
Are the goowy-team migrated to AOL also, or do You have other plans?
Best and all the luck,
Claus, Denmark.

as long as the email account is still totally free..that is all that truly counts about the move! i don't wanna have to PAY for aol!

I'm honestly disappointed with the decision, however, in retrospect, goowy was ahead of the curve with Web 2.0 apps. If there was further development, I think it would've been a smashing hit all around. But business decisions must be made for the best interests of those involved. It was fun while it lasted.

yup, inbox is empty, folders are gone, and my web desktop has turned into a another email account.
will the missing emails be returned?
i would like to thank the Goowy team, you have done a great job with a great service, but i am sorry to say that there are better services out there for email and when i get my emails back and change everything over to a new account (trying to find something like Goowy) i will be leaving my email address to die. AOL is a terrible company which should waiting at least a week before starting with the Ads.

Guys, I'm sure you are very happy about AIM deal but just tell me how am I supposed to get access to my lovely Web Top? I've stored a lot of notes and memos there and now this stupid AOL system is not what I am looking for.
Just give me a link to my old Web Top or Adios Goowy. :)

OK, as of now you guys are complete idiots. You say my emails will be in a "Goowy-Other" folder, but right now this folder isn't even there. I have been saving e-mails that I find important for over 3 years, and now I can't even get to them. Could you have been any more unprofessional?
Posted by: AAAGH!!! | September 29, 2008 at 05:17 PM
The all Goowy experience is totaly ruin with this transition. I got a bad test of dissapointement besides most of my saved emails are missing and I don't see that "other folder" anywhere...
Bad moves, very bad moves guys !!!

Well, thanks God I can login to AOL... Yes You're right and no mistake in My words - WE ALL LOGIN TO AOL, but not to lovely Goowy!! Because what I see is no Goowy at all!! I hate AOL even more now! I couldnt even believe how easy some companies can make $hit from perfectness!!
But even more valuable problem I have now:
1. I dont see any old emails in My inbox
2. There is no "Goowy-other" folder, where My old sent emails should be placed, as promised.
It feels to Me that My lovely Goowy account start stinks like dead body, not sure how long it'll last long. Probably untill I'll take care of all assigned services and sensitive data I have associated within Goowy.
And as personal statement of mine:
What AOL for Me:
- Aaa!! Ouch!! Leave Me!!
- Abide Our Lose
- Anyone Out Last
- Arrange Other Line
- Acquit Our Lie
and of course classic:
- Always OFF Line
I hope e-thing 'll go as planned by Okt-06.

Not to be mean, but i much preferred Goowy when it was separate from AOL.
I don't exactly 'hate' AOL but i'm not a fan either. Once i get my messages back into my inbox (If i do), most likely i'll be deleting my account and start finding a new site.
::Come on, Goowy sounded so much cooler.
Goowymail/ AOLgoowy/ GoowyAOL...?
Thats not cool at all.

How can i delete my goowy aol e-mail account?
Posted by: spajder | October 02, 2008 at 05:05 AM
OMG!! Besides all previous problems like:
1. No old "inbox" messages are presented in inbox
2. No old "sent" messages presented anywhere
I have NEW another HUGE problem now!!
I CANT SEND MAIL FROM AOL(Goowy)!!
Let Me explain what the problem:
the matter is that AOL send My emails from blacklisted IP's!! So My messages are withdrawn and I receive "Undelivered Mail, please contact Support Service" email.
I did contacted "Support Service" of Yahoo,Mail, Gmail(because I was sending emails to mentioned email-Providers) and unblocked couple of AOL IP's.
But today I login, write new email, sent it and AGAIN the same problem!! Today AOL sending emails from different AOL-IP's and all of them are blacklisted within such providers as Yahoo.fr, Walla.co.il, Mail.ru, Inbox.ru.
And I expect it to be repeated, because everytime I login to AOL, it will send My emails from different blacklisted AOL-IP's!!
PLEASE HELP!!
